Mass Effect 2 Squad Reveal

When I first played Mass Effect 1 I got along with all my squad mates, by the time the Universe was safe I was tired of them.  The characters were all one dimensional.  The decks of the Normandy were eerily quiet and the crew didn't interact.  After a dozen play-throughs of the game (Achievement whoring) I downright hated them.  I was so sick of nailing Ashley, I would just leave her to die on Virmire.  Which left me with only the dead fish Liara as my love interest.  Hell, I created a fem Shep just to sleep with Kaiden(to see how it felt).  As if I didn't already know how that would go, those sensitive type guys are horrible in bed.

What I really would have liked to have seen, is a ship that felt alive.  A crew (of more than 8 people) that interacted, ate, slept, and fought.  I found it strange that a ship full of aliens and strangers somehow managed to get along without any sort of confrontations, especially with that racist Ashley aboard.  It appears that Bioware has taken steps to address that issue in ME2.  The new Normandy is much bigger, and yes that means better, regardless of what your girlfriend tells you.  The decks are inhabited by various crew members, who will hopefully have more than 10 lines of dialogue.

With the added room a larger ship allows for, Shepard is able to recruit more squad mates.  This time around, the crew seems much edgier.  My gut tells me that this trip into the Terminus system won’t go so smoothly.  From the few reveal trailers I’ve seen each squad member has some glaring personality defect, which leads me to believe Shepard is going to have to break up a few fights.
So without further ado, let’s meet the crew.
